Robert David "Dave" Landry

Robert David Landry, age 79 of North End Halifax, passed away peacefully on November 21st, 2021 at the Halifax Infirmary, QEII surrounded by loved ones. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Robert Simon Landry and Marion Dehila (Fraughton) Landry of Bright Street, Halifax.

David served in the Artillery, Military Police, and as a drug enforcement officer with Customs Canada.

He loved spending time at his cottage with his wife Ethel in St. Peter’s and travelling the world. He created a wonderful loving gathering place for his family and grandchildren to enjoy. He also loved cooking for others and playing music.

He is survived by his second wife Ethel (Owens/Poole) Landry; his children Rob (Mary), Joe (Lori), and Janine (Todd) Verge; his stepchildren Jason and Stephen (Poole); and his grandchildren Hannah, Emma, Madison, Rebecca, Kathryn, Ella, Taylore, Ethan, and Paris; brothers John (Nancy), Joseph (Lynda), Stephen (Anne); sisters Marjorie and Cathy (Paul); his sisters in-law Glenda, Brenda and Eileen; his brother in-law Paul; and many nephews and nieces.

He is pre-deceased by his first wife Susan Kathryn (Quaintance) Landry and his brothers Jimmy and Charlie.

A celebration of life will be held at the Atlantic Funeral Home at 771 Main Street in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia Tuesday November 30th, 2021 from 1:00-3:00pm followed by a social gathering at the Old Triangle Irish Ale House (An Seanchai Room 2nd Floor) 5136 Prince Street Halifax, Nova Scotia starting at 6:00pm. Proof of double vaccination and valid ID will be required upon entry at both venues.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Souls Harbour (https://www.shrm.ca/).

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Dave will forever be remembered by us all at the camp in St.Peter’s. He and Ethel always made you feel welcome and left a lot of great memories of fun times and great food that he made. Our kids will forever hold onto these great memories of Dave and the memories will be passed on of all the great times. We are sorry we couldn’t make it to his celebration of life as Harold had an appointment he couldn’t miss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time, condolences to Ethel and all the family. Dave will forever be missed, may he RIP.
