I wish to extend my deepest condolences to Rob’s family. Rob and I first met and sailed together on HMCS Margaree. We then progressed through courses and postings as Naval Electronics technicians and retired to accept jobs at FMF Cape Scott the same year. Rob’s office was just down the hall from mine so we often met in the hallway where we had fond chats of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. I am also a CFL fan. I remember when Rob’s number was retired in the Fleet Club and him telling me how honoured he was about it. My thought and prayers of comfort for all whose life Rob touched with his spirit. Green is the colour Football is the game. Go Riders rest in peace my friend.
I had the pleasure of working with Rob on many occasions but and he was one of those sailors that you looked forward to working with. Always a smile on his face and willing to help wherever he could. He was a vital member of the Navy family and took great pride in being a sailor. My condolences to his wife, children, family and his many friends. Fair winds and following seas Rob.
Our friendship dates back to 1985/86! A great man with whom I sailed with on many occasions while in the RCN! Thank you for your friendship and lending me an ear when the need arose! Condolences to your family, and those you hold dear!
Our sincere condolences to all the family. I sailed with Rob early in my career and then we worked together at FMFCS. One of the most kind and joyful people I ever had the pleasure to meet. Mike and I have fond memories of curling with Rob at Windsor park. RIP
Rob was a true and great friend to our entire family. The past 20-plus years are filled with so many wonderful memories, and each one contains a smiling and happy Rob whose sincerity and kindness were at the core of who he was as a person and a friend. Whether it was projects or poker and games at the cottages, rounds of golf in the freezing cold, or time spent soaking in the hot tub on any given New Year’s Eve, Rob always made you feel that those moments were as special to him as they were to you. Rob was a rare and very special person, and he will be sorely missed by all of us. Our deepest and sincerest condolences to Char, Kelsey, and Jake, and to everyone who had the privilege of being family and friends of Rob.
