Obituary Overview

Brent Gordon Allison

Brent G. Allison, 74, of Fall River NS, died peacefully on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Ivy Meadows Continuing Care Home.

Born in Sillikers NB, he was the son of the late Gordon and Vivian (Silliker) Allison.
From a young age, Brent was disciplined and diligent. He had the best of three worlds; work that he loved, a passion for woodworking and a cherished wife.

Brent’s focus, determination and pure grit showed up in his work. He excelled in finance and banking. He had a stellar career in the banking industry and made life-long friends in each community he worked: Kentville, NS, Saint John NB, Miramichi, NB and Halifax area.

During his youth he loved to go fishing, hunting and play sports. Those interests waned when he became a “banking suit guy” and then you would find him on the golf course, at the curling club or on the water boating. His skill & finesse in golf was notable; he loved the game and had many golfing buddies at clubs throughout the Maritimes. His home club at Ashburn in Fall River was a favourite.

RBC was not only his career it was where he met his wife, Marilyn.
Together they built a life that reflected their values, their love and commitment.
Brent was a planner, very exact yet very patient and a great listener. Marilyn was the perfect match for Brent and together they enjoyed a full life after his retirement from RBC in 2004. By Halloween each year, Brent said “off to Florida we go” and they wintered in Wildwood FL; returning home each summer for cottage life at “NuVue” on Magaguadavic Lake in NB. His four-legged companions, Zoe & Skylar, held a huge part of his heart.

Brent will be greatly missed by his wife Marilyn; his daughter Andrea Thompson (Greg) of Saint John; his son Berry (Stacy) of Drumheller, AB; three sisters Elsie Enright (Kelly) of Miramichi; Brenda Bourque of Fredericton; and Sheree Allison of Miramichi; as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Ricky Allison.

Brent’s family would like to thank the entire staff at Ivy Meadows in Beaverbank, NS where he resided since 2017. Their care and love for Brent was exceptional!

There will be no visitation nor funeral at this time.

Donations to the Alzheimer’s’ Society or a local SPCA in Brent’s memory would be appreciated.

Messages of condolences may be shared with Atlantic Funeral Home, Lower Sackville NS:

My dear sweet Marilyn, Jerry and I were so saddened to hear the news. Although we knew his report it is still sad when they leave. I know we all have things we want and be desired but God has his plan and his plan will stand. I don’t remember when we started hanging out with each other but the group grew and we all had such a great time. I know that Brent was very smart he was multi talented and he could cook some great chicken wings out on the grill. LOL! I took him to be my designated brother as I didn’t have one.I remember telling him I didn’t want cheese on my hamburger but only as a brother would do he put cheese on my hamburger anyway! We all had great times playing golf and gathering for dinners and playing “scatt”. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is gone but my friend you have your family and friends but most important your memories. Right now he is checking out heaven and waiting for the rest of us to join him. Then the grill will be fired up! Don’t know what he will be cooking but I know it will be awesome. We’ll gather around the table and play our game so don’t forget your quarters!! It won’t get any better than that!! Rest In Peace my dear friend
