DOUCET, Joseph Anthony “Tony”, 80, Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia passed away August 16th, 2017 at the QEII Hospital (IMCU). Born on Christmas Day in Collette, New Brunswick he was the son of the late Albénie and Catherine Doucet. Served in the Army from 1955-1958 and the Navel Reserves from 1959-1991. Tony worked at Halifax Dockyard until retiring in 1991 after 33 years of service. He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Calais Branch #162 for 36 years and an active member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th degree. He was very involved in darts and bowling. He is survived by his fiancé, Dolly Hill. Two son’s Michael (Linda), Lower Sackville, Ritchie, of Toronto and two daughters, Sharon (Dave) of Ottawa, and Melissa (Wayne) of St. John’s; stepsons, Ted, Ralph and Gerry, stepdaughter’s Brenda, Pat and Linda, grandchildren, Maryanne, April, Kyle, Daniel and Dana and four great-grand-children, brothers, Francois (Louise), Auguste (Beulah), Domitien (Marie) Richard (Mary), sister’s, Dorina (Jean-Claude), Marie Anne (Raymond) and Elodianne, several nieces and nephews. Tony was predeceased by his first wife, Lillian; second wife, Pauline; grandson, Zackery; stepdaughter, Susie and sisters, Fernande and Sophie. The family would like to thank, the QE11 IMCU Unit, doctors and nurses, and the homecare workers who took such wonderful care of Tony. Visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 7 and 9, Wednesday August 23rd in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am Thursday at St. John Vianney RC Church, Lower Sackville. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.
