It is with great sadness that we share that Albert Joseph Lake passed on April 17, 2022, at the age of 52, after an exceptionally fast struggle with cancer that was over before it began.
Albert was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Florence, and his stepfather, Michael Foster. He leaves an abundance of memories to brighten the hearts of his greatest loves - his wife, Kathy, and daughters, Holly and Kaleigh along with siblings, Sean (Lori), Wayne (Jaana), Bernard, Andrew (Daniella) and Kim (Melvin). He will be sadly missed by the siblings he gained in marriage - Gerald (Mary), Colleen (Ed), Shaun (Elaine), Barry, Janet (Wayne), and Tony (Kim), and his many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Albert grew up in Newfoundland surrounded by a large and very close family, and at 18, came to Toronto for a “3 week vacation” with his Pop; he made it his home. He travelled back to Newfoundland often, and on one trip, met the love of his life, Kathy. They both knew they belonged together. Albert was a loving husband and an exceptional father. Family came above all else. He loved Sunday golf with the boys, being a goalie, and opening Chateau Lake to whomever needed it. He was Santa’s helper, a tour guide, a chauffeur, and a dance dad who was known to take to the stage from time to time. Albert had a sense of humour that lit up any room. For over 25 years, Albert was dedicated to his work and loved his family at Starship.
In recognition of his brothers in the Knights of Columbus, Albert’s charity of choice is the Knights Table (knightstable.org) which serves the vulnerable population in the Peel Region.

Kathy, Holly and Kaleigh, so sorry to hear of the passing of Albert (husband and father). We may have missed some years since the kids moved on from elementary school but Albert and your family are always remembered for the memories we created. Always smiling and fun to be around. Praying for God's blessings and guiding hands to take you all through this difficult time. Our prayers and best wishes are with you all.
Kathy, Kaleigh and
I only met Albert once at Matt and Ashley’s wedding and he was so kind and helpful. That meeting showed me what a generous person he was. I’m so sad to hear of his passing. I know it is difficult now but with the wonderful family you have I’m sure they will help. Take Care
