Obituary Overview

Forever Loved

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Christine Mayer on Friday, October 4, 2019 at her home at the age of 54. Beloved partner of John Sonke, Christine was a loving mother to Tanya (Simon), Trevor (Laura), and Maddison; a proud grandmother of Jaxon, Adalynn, Austin, and Ryder; a cherished daughter of Daniel; a loving sister to Darrell (Vicky), Ruth Ann (Ray), and Derek (Mandi); and a caring aunt to all her nieces and nephews. Christine was predeceased by her older brother, Donald, and more recently by her dear mother, Alice. A loving, caring spirit who touched the hearts of many as she moved through life, Christine will be greatly missed by all fortunate enough to have befriended her. She leaves us all with fond memories of joy and laughter. We invite you to join us for the visitation, to be held at the Brampton Funeral Home & Cemetery, 10061 Chinguacousy Rd., Brampton (at Bovaird Dr. W.), 905-460-9155 on Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. The funeral service, officiated by her uncle, Father Andrew Mayer, will be held in the funeral home chapel at 4 p.m. following the visitation. To Christine's family and friends, I was heartbroken to read about Christine's passing. We were childhood friends, and have been out of touch many, many years, but as soon as I saw her name a flood of memories came back. I remember her smile and kindness; she was a little powerhouse way back then, and so full of spirit. Please accept my deepest condolences, and may your memories help to ease your sadness.

Christine, Thank you for being my friend Thank you for letting me be yours Thank you for loving me Thank you for letting me love you It's hard to imagine living a lifetime in such a few short years, but we did. We shared tremendous love, laughter and adventure. We shared quiet moments in thought and reflection...but always together. We shared our happiness with each other and all those we met as we walked the path of our life together until you could walk it no more. But what an amazing path it was...so natural, so easy... So loving and so much fun...we gave each other what we needed... The book of our life is made up of a series of moments in time and we are all given only a limited number of such moments to share as we fill its pages...thank you, Christine, for choosing to write your last chapter with me...I will hold it dear in my heart forever. I love you always John
