Ian MacLean Campbell, 94, beloved husband of Margaret (nee McIntyre), cherished father of Douglas, Jean, Mary, and Alison, and proud grandfather of Alan, Daniel, Christopher, and Robert, died peacefully in the early hours of November 14, 2021. Having been raised with his brothers on a farm outside Lloydminster, Alberta, Ian went on to earn a B.Sc. in agriculture at the University of Alberta, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in entomology at the University of Toronto. He served as professor of life sciences for nearly three decades, and retired to his much-loved farmhouse near Stirling, Ontario. There will be a memorial gathering in the spring of 2022. Anyone wishing to commemorate Ian’s life is asked to donate in his honour to a charity of their choosing.

Marg and family: Betty and I send our condolences to you in your loss of our good friend and former university colleague. As you know, I owe my gratitude to Ian in his vigour to make my appointment at Scarborough College, University of Toronto later to become the University of Toronto Scarborough. We shared many fun times in our 30+years working and socializing together and I am most grateful to have had him as part of my academic and social life. May memories of happy times as a family sustain you all at the present time and in the years to come.
With sympathy, Betty and John Youson
