Oliver Joseph Wolfe

Obituary Overview

Wolfe, Oliver Joseph

Wolfe Oliver Joseph  of Grand Desert, peacefully passed away at 103 years old, late Tuesday morning December 18th 2018, at the Dartmouth General Hospital.

Oliver was born in Grand Desert and is predeceased by his parents Mary (Lapierre)Wolfe and Patrick Wolfe as well as Brothers: Walter, Regis Phillip and Sisters: Emma, Margaret, Cecilia and Catherine. Having lived such a long and full life Oliver is survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews. Oliver aka "Butch" had many friends over the years, some of who made a point to come and visit him even into in his much later years. He always enjoyed the company and to all of you our sincere condolences.

Oliver worked for a time at the Grand Desert School serving as custodian where he enjoyed working close to home and getting to know the local kids, but for many he will be most remembered as the local Barber, Bootlegger and Trapper. Oliver loved music and was often found tapping his toes to local fiddle tunes performed by fiddler Douglas Romans, (who along with Oliver’s niece Sandra) were his primary care givers for over 26 years.

Oliver remained a bachelor his whole life and  for many will be most remembered for his Trapping, and Bootlegging stories. For those who knew him, he will be sadly missed, his positive outlook on life, and good humour was contagious. Till we meet again someday,, sleep peacefully Olly.

A Celebration of his life to be held at the Ste. Therese Community Centre (17 Conrod Rd, Head of Chezzetcook, NS, BOJ 1NO.) on  Saturday January 5th from 2-4 pm. Music, snacks and refreshments will be provided. All are welcome.
