View MoreI didn't have the opportunity to know Prof. Rubens Lintz in person. Still, I have been greatly influenced by his books Historia da Matematica, vols 1 and 2, published as vols 45 and 62 of Colecao CLE - Centro de Logica e Epistemologia, at Unicamp - the University of Campinas, Brazil. His approach to history and philosophy of mathematics is profound, insightful, highly original, and practically unexplored (great opportunity for future academic work). Thanks to Prof. Rubens Lintz for sharing his beautiful ideas, and my condolences to his family and friends at the moment of his passing. All the best, --- Julio Michael Stern
