In Loving Memory
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Audrey Dawson on June 16, 2020 at Carewest Colonel Belcher in Calgary AB. Audrey was predeceased by her loving husband and travel partner David. She is survived by her sons Stephen (Pam), Barry and grandchildren Crystal, David, and Daniel and 5 grandchildren all of Saskatoon.
Audrey was born in Manchester England on April 15, 1930 and married her lifetime partner David in 1952. In 1957 they departed England for a new life in Canada landing first in Montreal where they spent 2.5 years before moving on to Toronto. Known for her excellent cooking skills and love of hosting the house was always full of friends and neighbors to share many good times together. Travel was one of Audrey’s great loves and with David they travelled the world from end to end making friends and sharing adventures. This continued as they retired and moved to Calgary in 1995 to be closer to family. In Calgary, new friends were made and travel adventures continued when they joined the Friendship Force and had the opportunity to experience life in the homes of friends in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the US. A love of dancing led to joining the Square Dance Community where Audrey was an active member of the club and where her sewing skills shone in the many costumes that she made. There was always time for camping trips in the spring/summer and making time for friends and family. The family would like to thank the friends and neighbors who visited her during her stay in Colonel Belcher. Particularly her good friends Judy and Leanne.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Eden Brook Memorial Gardens, Calgary, AB.
