Our family is saddened to announce the passing of Bradley James Owen of Calgary, AB, at the age of 46, after a courageous battle with cancer. On June 28, Brad peacefully passed away in his husband’s arms at the Foothills Medical Centre. Brad was born on October 26, 1973 in Rockglen, Saskatchewan. He attended Craik School and continued his education at the University of Regina, where he completed his Computer Science degree. Brad’s career, in Information and Technology, led him to Calgary, where he became the senior IT Manager for S.i. Systems. Brad was a devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, friend, and mentor to many. He deeply enjoyed cooking, snowboarding, travelling, camping, hiking, meditating, home renovating, and being with his beloved dog Scout. Brad is survived by his loving family, including: his husband, Nicholas Owen; his parents, Keith and Carol Owen of Craik, SK; his brother, Chad Owen (Inhee) and niece Kaylee, of South Korea; and his sister, Jana Yee (Kevin), nephew Owen, and niece Taylor of Calgary, AB. Brad was predeceased by his grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles. The family would like to thank the incredible staff, on unit 47, at the Foothills Medical Centre for the special care provided to Brad through his battle.
Due to the current pandemic, a private memorial service will be held. As a result of the restrictions, Brad’s celebration of life will also be live streamed. Please reach out to the family for access to the link. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations can be made to the Ostomy Association in Brad’s honour. https://calgaryostomysociety.com/ways-to-give/

This is a thankyou email. This Christmas (2021) I received notification that I won the basket you donate to raise funds for Tom Baker Cancer center. So sorry that you lost Bradley to Cancer. However, reading the write-up on the basket and reading his obituary he was an unforgetable person and cancer was only a small part of his adventuresome life! I am a 5 time cancer survivor and am very familiar with Tom Baker cancer center. Thanks for supporting this facility. Judy Teare.
