Our memories of Geert, Gelske and family date back many years now, when both we and they resided on the very same street in Willowdale, Ont.. We had moved to Tefley Rd. in 1972, and sheer coincidence would have it that the De Konings arrived a few years later, settling just 2 doors over from our residence. By the time of our moving north to Richmond Hill in 1978, our family, much like theirs, had expanded to a total six. What we remember so well was the play time that existed between their boys and our children. On one occasion, one of our daughters (who shall remain nameless), and one of their sons (who shall also remain nameless), inadvertently dented the trunk of our mutual / in between neighbour's new Chevy Malibu! Needless to say, both we and the De Konings conveyed our sincerest of apologies , which may also have included the opening of our wallets as restitution!
Our sincerest of condolences are hereby being extended to Geert, their four sons, spouses, the grand children, and to Gelske's three surviving siblings. May God continue to bless you all

Dear Geert, Curt Andrew, Edward,Ian, Ronald and families.
Our sincere condolences in the passing of wife, mother and grandmother.
We remember her, her photo in the Christian Courier is very real to us.
We remember sharing many good times together with her and all of you during our years in Willowdale.
And even after you moved to Calgary, appreciated the visits here and contacts usually at Christmas time.
We always appreciated the family news.
We pray for comfort in your loss, but know she is at home with her aLord and Savior who she served.
With love and greetings,
Nellie and John Schuurman
