Morris "Henry" Cox

Cox, Morris “Henry", 74 of Lower Sackville passed away peacefully November 9, 2019 at Northwood Centre with his loving family by his side. Born in Caledonia and raised in Bear River, NS, he was the eldest son of the late Morris and Caroline Cox.
Henry graduated from Digby Regional High School in 1964 and attended Acadia University before embarking on a long career in the municipal sales industry. Henry was a long-time member of the Sackville Kinsmen Club and held the office of president in 1989-1990.
An avid hockey fan, Henry enjoyed his Toronto Maple Leafs, Sackville Blazers and never missed watching his beloved Halifax Mooseheads play. Even during his illness, Henry kept close tabs on the Moose and stayed in touch with his fellow season ticket holders. Henry loved having regular “office time” at Tims with Bev, Ryan and friends.
Henry will be deeply missed by his wife of 46 years Beverley; his loving children Ryan and Shelley (David Forrest), both of Lower Sackville and grandson Jake who he adored; sister Marie Cox, Halifax; brother Eric (Linda), Bear River; brother in-law Kenneth (Marg) Matheson, Burlington, ON, niece Cherie, Burlington; and nephews Nick, Halifax, and Adrian, Sheet Harbour.
Besides his parents, Henry was predeceased by his sister Phyllis Cox and his father and mother in-law Donald and Juanita Matheson.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 14 at 1 p.m. also at Atlantic Funeral Home, Lower Sackville, with Rev. Sandra Cox officiating.
