Our deepest condolences to the family. Doug was an inspiration to many through his music. Doug taught me guitar lessons for two years. Our 45 minute lesson often ended with Shirley joining in for a jam session for the evening. As I progressed in my music, Doug traded in my beginner guitar & $300 for a Fender acoustic which I still play and cherish. Doug said “it’s time to put your big girl boots on” Through his music and teaching Doug touched more people than he ever knew.
Doug and myself had several conversation through his illness we shared a lot of memories and we laughed and laughed! My Mom the singing grandmother as she was known loved singing with him! I sang with his band a few times! My brother-in-law was a well know artist and man he could put on a good show! Doug will be missed so much by our family! See you when we meet again! Shirley told me she would live in my heart and I feel her there, I told her to move over a little and make room for you!
