Funeral Services

Personalized Tributes
Celebrate a Life Well Lived

A funeral fills several purposes. It is a tribute to honour a special life - an opportunity to celebrate the experiences, accomplishments, hobbies, heritage and history of a unique and irreplaceable personality. For many, a meaningful service is an important part of the healing process.  It also helps console the immediate family, the people who often feel the loss most deeply. A funeral service can be part of your final arrangements, whether burial or cremation is chosen.

Say More Than Just Goodbye

A funeral service, whether for yourself or a loved one, can be as traditional or contemporary as you desire. No matter how unique the request, our planning professionals creatively and resourcefully provide a one-of-a-kind remembrance.

Traditionally, there is a visitation period before the service for friends and family to express their love, support, and concern.  We offer access to quiet visitation rooms that provide a peaceful atmosphere for your visitation period.

Planning a Service and Reception

At Capital Funeral Home & Cemetery we have a beautiful chapel to host your funeral service.  Don’t feel obliged to have a traditional clergy-led service; there are a variety of ways to honour your loved one and the exceptional life they lived.  Bring their unique passions to the forefront – from talented artist to tireless world traveller, we can offer services to pay homage to their life.

As you personalize the funeral, some things to consider include:

  • Attributes or passions of the person who died that you want to be sure to honour
  • Memories to share
  • Person to lead the ceremony
  • Others who might want to speak or share memories
  • Music ideas for the visitation and ceremony
  • Readings for the ceremony

After the service, it can be comforting to host a reception where family and friends join together over a meal.  We offer two large reception rooms with full kitchens and patios, as a private place to gather and remember.

Live Streams and Online Tributes

If family members or friends are unable to attend a ceremony in person, we can connect them via live stream. Our personalized broadcast experiences enable online guests to be a part of those important moments. You'll also see who attended online and get immediate access to the recording for viewing and download.  We also offer our exclusive Sharing Memories memorial sites free of charge, giving family and friends a place to remember, sign the guestbook, upload photos and videos, and pay tribute, no matter where they live.

Helping You Cope with Grief

Capital Funeral Home & Cemetery provides free AfterCare service to help support you through your grief. Our AfterCare experts can also help when dealing with important – and sometimes confusing – matters after the funeral, such as finalizing the estate.
