Funeral Services

Personalized Tributes
Celebrate a Life Well Lived

For generations, a funeral has been a way for family and friends to gather and celebrate the life of a loved one, to honour their accomplishments, and to start the journey towards healing.  A funeral is a fundamental part of your final arrangements, whether burial or cremation is chosen.

Say More Than Just Goodbye

Traditional or contemporary, the funeral service can be tailored to your faith, taste and budget. Whether planning for yourself or a loved one, our professionals will help you design a memorial service as unique as the person being honoured.

Often, a visitation period proceeds the service. Receiving family and friends through a visitation provides support,  and allows others to express their love and concern for you.

Planning a Service and Reception

Here are some things that can help make sure the service is personalized:

  • Special interests, hobbies and characteristics you want to honour
  • Reminiscences to share
  • Close friends and relatives to invite
  • A spiritual leader to conduct the service
  • Those who may want to share a memory at the service
  • Favourite music to play at the ceremony and/or visitation
  • Favourite authors to read at the ceremony

A warm and welcoming reception after the funeral provides a place for friends and family to gather and talk over a meal or refreshments.

While Prince Albert Memorial Gardens will work closely with any funeral home you choose, we suggest you consider our sister Arbor Memorial funeral home, River Park Memorial Chapel.

Online Tributes

Thanks to the Internet, being able to honour your loved one from anywhere has become easier. Our exclusive online memorial site, Sharing Memories, is available free of charge. It’s a wonderful place to share photos, messages or videos about your loved one. The profile will always be accessible, letting friends and family visit and reminisce whenever they like.

Helping You Cope with Grief

Prince Albert Memorial Gardens provides free AfterCare service to help support you through your grief. Our AfterCare experts can also help when dealing with important – and sometimes confusing – matters after the funeral, such as finalizing the estate.

Planning Ahead

Planning a funeral for a loved one requires you to make many decisions and choices during a time of grief. You can spare your family from the stress – and financial burden – by pre-planning your own funeral. Planning in advance lets you tell your final story in your own unique way. It feels good to know it’s all taken care of.

We also offer exclusive pre-planning benefits, such as funeral coverage for children and grandchildren under 19, and being able to transfer your funeral plans to any of our locations across Canada.  Learn more about pre-planning your funeral and cemetery arrangements.

The Benefits of Planning Ahead

  • Savings:  Planning early offers cost savings of up to thousands of dollars.
  • Reduce the burden on your family: Planning your final arrangements ahead of time reduces the responsibilities on your family at their time of distress.
  • Peace of mind: Gain comfort in knowing your plans are ready.
