Clarence "Bus" Riley



The family of Clarence "Bus" Riley would like to announce his passing on Monday, April 8, 2019 at Monarch Hall Nursing Home, Riverview. Born on December 24, 1916, he was the son of the late Charles and Nora (Pickard) Riley of Johnville, NB.

Bus graduated from St. Thomas University, Chatham, NB class of 1940. He was a Veteran of WWII having served overseas from 1942 – 1945. Bus was very active in the community, member of various organizations and clubs. Prior to his retirement, he worked in the financial industry all his working career.

Bus is survived by his son Richard Riley of Fredericton, his daughter Colleen Riley of Moncton, grandson Jeff Riley as well as one great granddaughter Lily Riley, two sisters, Sr. Patricia Riley and Celine Calhoun both of Saint John and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Bus was predeceased by his wife Mary Riley and his son Michael Riley of Fredericton.

Memorial donations in Bus' memory may be made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visitation on Sunday, April 14, 2019 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm with parish prayers at 3:30 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary RC Church, 5 Fatima Street, Riverview on Monday, April 15 at 11:00 am with reception to follow at the Alma City Club, 114 Alma Street, Moncton from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. Interment to be held in the Fair Haven Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton (506) 852-3530.

Colleen and Richard, We're so sorry about the passing of your Dad and my uncle Bus. We fondly remember the fun we had with your mother and Bus at Cap Pele in the summer time and various family events with the McCann's over the many years.
