My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Mr.Pickering was my soccer coach for a very brief, yet very impactful time. My first year after a four year break from soccer, Mr.Pickering was there to build up my courage, confidence and skills and I could not be more thankful. I know the team would agree that he pushed us to do our absolute best, and when our best wasn’t good enough, he still stayed positive and was proud of us for trying. Mr.Pickering cared about our wellbeing more than anything, and that’s what made him a good coach.

His relationship with any of the students he interacted with was heartwarming. He cared. And that’s what made him such an amazing EA/coach.

Mr.Pickering will forever be missed by absolutely anyone who had the pleasure to know him.

My thoughts are with you at this time. I did not work directly with Joel on the days I worked at LC but recall finding him so easy to talk to and very calm and competent at his job.

My deepest condolences.

In the early '90s I was at a folk festival where Jane (Joel's mum) and Tim Soper were performing with their puppet troupe. Jane gave me Joel's name badge because I didn't have one and Joel was just a baby. I probably still have that badge. It was always nice to run into Joel in later years but the memory of him being a baby at the festival stays with me.

My heart breaks for his family; my sincerest condolences to you all. May your memories of him help you to get you through this impossibly difficult time.

Dear Jane and Harold

I was saddened to hear from Ambrose about the passing of your dear son Joel.

It sounds as though he was a wonderful man which is not surprising given who you both are.

I promise to pray that God's comfort and grace will be abundant and evident at this time upon you both as well as upon Eric, Theo, Meliisa and your families.
