Obituary Overview

In Loving Memory

Rosemarie Mallen (nee
LeComte)1947 - 2020

On October 20, 2020, one day after her 73rd birthday, Rosemarie passed away peacefully with her family at her side.  Highschool sweetheart and beloved wife of 51 years of Ed Mallen.  Devoted Mom to Tracey (John Kemp) and Shelley (Dan Willemse) and Grandma to Bridget and Jodie Willemse.  Rosemarie was very proud of her family, supporting and bragging about all of their accomplishments, exploits, and adventures!

Predeceased by her infant brother Michael, parents Harry and Gwen LeComte, and daughter Shelley.  Youngest sister of Carole Conley (Gary), Yvonne Gallivan, Lucille L’Oiseau (Don).  She will be deeply missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews and her
dog Joey, who never left her side.

Rosemarie was very active in community theatre and loved music and animals.  In partnership with Ed, Rosemarie helped build a thriving business, Ed Mallen Electric, which celebrated 25 years of success in June.

Rosemarie was able to be at home with her beloved dog and family until her last day.  This would not have been possible without the support of all of her neighbours, particularly Wendy and Jean, and of the Home Cares Nurses who made daily visits.  She also
received excellent care from Lennox & Addington Paramedics and the team at Lennox & Addington County General Hospital.
Special thanks to Dr. Howes and Nurse April in the Kidd 2 ICU at Kingston Health Sciences Centre for their compassion and care at the very end.

At the family’s request, cremation has taken place and a private ceremony is planned with interment at St. Linus Roman Catholic Cemetery in Bath, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arthritis Society, Alzheimer’s Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation, or the Canadian Cancer Society.

We are so sorry and shocked to hear about Rosemarie. We always enjoyed going to see her in the various plays she performed in at Selby Theatre. Plus, we loved her kindness and love for animals especially her sweet pup, Joey. We will miss her friendship and her love of life. She was a great person and we are deeply saddened by her loss. Our thoughts are with her family at this very difficult time. We are so sorry to hear this news. Deepest sympathies to you all, Wendy & Don

Mr. Mallen, Tracy & Family I have many fond memories of Mrs. Mallen from volunteering at St. Linus school when we were kids to singing in the choir with Marilyn at church. She was always a good character and fine lady. My most sincerest condolences to you and your entire family. Bob Jr.
