Obituary Overview

In Loving Memory of

David passed away suddenly on June 22,  on his boat on Gloucester Pool. Even though our hearts are very heavy with his loss, David passed away doing what he loved - fishing. David will be forever missed, adored, and cherished always by his loving wife Debbie. He was a caring, and devoted father to his son Dillon.  A beloved son to Patricia Vorich-Furmedge, and Marcello Vorich.  Dear brother to Michael, (Chris pre-deceased), and Lisa. Adored son-in-law to Rosie Filipchuk, (Adolf pre-deceased).   Much-loved uncle to Eric Vorich, his girlfriend Hashini, and Sean Norrish. Brother-in-law to Mary Filipchuck and her partner Brian Smith.  Forever missed by his brother-in-law, best friend and fishing buddy Dennis Filipchuk.  David was extremely athletic, and proficient in many sports. He played hockey, football, tennis, baseball, and golf, but he was most passionate about fishing. He introduced Dillon to fishing at a very early age, and it became a special bond between the two of them. David was a dedicated member of Local 31.  He cared immensely about each and every one of his men, brothers, colleagues, and co-workers. David had a big presence, with a quiet gentleness about him. He was a beautiful soul with a kind, generous, and loving heart. He was completely devoted to his family, and his friends, and was always available to lend support, or guidance or help in any way he could. David meant so much too so many and he will be forever missed and always loved. “Rest in peace David”.

I had the pleasure of meeting and knowing Dave through the BACU. I was absolutely shocked to hear of his passing. Dave was a very gentle soul and I admired him for his true compassion for his fellow brothers of BACU. My son Jesse had the pleasure of meeting Dave in Bermuda and spoke very highly of him. At this time I wish to extend my sincere condolences to the family in the loss of your loved one. Cherish the beautiful memories and now know he is your Guardian Angel. God only takes the best and may God be with you during this difficult time. Dave will be truly missed. Sincerely, Rick Eade and family.
