Obituary Overview
Trang Thi Ly
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn our sister, Trang Ly, on December 16th 2020 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Trang was born to Nga and Thanh on May 4th, 1988 at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.
She is survived by her parents, her sister Ngoc, her brother Johnny, her brother-in-law Joon, her nephews Justin and Alex, her uncle Son, her cousins Stephanie and Jesse, extended family in Edmonton, France, Vietnam and her beloved dog, Yoshi.
Trang was an accomplished individual academically and professionally. Having studied at the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Law, she was called to the bar in 2016. Work was a big part of her life. She found criminal defence exhilarating and was always up for a challenge.
Trang enjoyed cooking (especially Vietnamese food), video games, K-pop, anime and reading. She was an artist and an athlete. She loved dogs.
Trang was bright, caring and determined. She could accomplish anything she puts her mind to, she went out of her way to help others, she was never afraid to speak out for what’s right or to put you in your place when you needed it. She made an impact on everyone she met. She will be forever in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, our family would greatly appreciate memorial donations be made in the name of Trang to the Winnipeg Humane Society, the Canadian Mental Health Association or the Elizabeth Fry Society of Manitoba Inc., an organization that helped some of her most vulnerable clients. Her short time on this Earth was spent helping others and she would want it to continue in her passing.
A celebration of her life will be arranged at a later date.
