Obituary Overview

Forever In Our Hearts

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved David on Tuesday March 8th 2022 at Princess Margaret Hospital at the age of 54.

Husband of Trisa, Loving father of Vanessa (Kevin) and Daniel. Cherished Brother of Irene (Chris). Born to the late Anton and Antonia Šemen on March 2nd 1968. Brother-in-law to Frank, son in law to Carmelo and the late Raffaella and Special Uncle to Lauren and Brandon.

David went to school for Architectural design, but his true passion was working with his hands and following his father’s foot steps in the trades. His knowledge and skills were recognized when he was asked to join IFSTC as Apprentice Liaison. He spent 14 years building the industry through his passion and love of the trades. He was once again recognized for his commitment and dedication and moved to Carpenters District Council of Ontario as Provincial Training Coordinator.

David loved his career along with his family and friends just as fiercely. We will all remember how much he loved relaxing with family and friends at his favourite place: Punta Sauble!

David will be greatly missed by everyone who’s heart he touched.

Visitation will be held at Glen Oaks Funeral Home, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville (Ninth Line and Dundas) on Tuesday March 15th 2-4 and 6-8pm and Wednesday March 16th, 2022 from 6-8pm. A funeral service will take place on Thursday March 17th at 11am at Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Catholic Church 739 Browns Line Etobicoke ON M8W 3V7.

I just became aware of David’s passing and this has made me cry. David always looked after me during my time with Local 675. He encouraged me throughout my apprenticeship. His Heart was pure and kind. My fondest moments were when we travelled to Las Vegas for the Carpenters Conference. He gave me valuable advice for my career and family. Rest in Shalom Brother
