We are deeply saddened to announce that Jose Mario "Jojo" Miguel died peacefully surrounded by his family on March 28, 2021 in Toronto General Hospital after a brave battle for 3 years with lung cancer.  He was born on October 20, 1958.  He will be laid to rest on Monday, April 5, 2021

Jojo was born in Naga City, Philippines, to Mario and Nena Miguel.  He moved to Canada in 1999 with his family.  He studied hard and has a Bachelor's Degree, a Master's Degree and a Law Degree from the Philippines.  He loved playing tennis, ping pong, chess, traveling, spending time with his kids.  He was working at Canada Post before his diagnosis of lung cancer.  He gave back to the community by volunteering at the Erin Mills Tennis Club for many years.  He lived life to the fullest and loved taking pictures.  

He was a loving husband married to Lelanie for 32 years, a wonderful father, and a caring older brother to all his siblings.  

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, co-workers and all who knew him.


Visitation will be held at Glen Oaks Funeral Home, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville on Sunday, April 4, 2021, from 1-3 pm and 5-7 pm.  Guests must register on the link below.  A private Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, April 5, 2021 with burial to follow at Glen Oaks Cemetery.  

As directed by the Province of Ontario and the Bereavement Authority of Ontario the attendance at the funeral and cemetery is restricted to 30% capacity or less and a record of attendance must be maintained.
Respecting the current situation and pandemic building restrictions, a Service will be held for registered guests only, please register using the link below.
