Obituary Overview

In Loving Memory

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Renato Bergantini on Friday April 28th, 2023. Born in Bominaco to Anna Portante and Vincenzo Bergantini on March 31st, 1951. He immigrated to Canada in the late 60’s to live with his sister Gina and her family. Renato worked hard in the construction industry at his brother-in-law's company, his own company, as well as at Pave-Al, Municipal, and his final employment with Forest Contractors group.

Renato is survived by his wife (Martha), children Nick (Christine), Amanda (Dan), Sarah (Brian), and Dan (Shenelle), as well as his 6 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Umberto (Vienna) in Italy as well as many extended family in Italy, Canada, and Belgium.

Renato will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He made a great difference to all of our lives.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask for donations towards two causes which were very important to Renato: The Heart and Stroke Foundation (link: https://www.heartandstroke.ca/) as well as the town of Bominaco (a GoFundMe has been established here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/the-town-of-bominaco-italy)

When it’s over you know,
We’ll both be so alone.
Like a bat out of hell
I’ll be gone when the morning comes.
When the night is over
Like a bat out of hell
I’ll be gone gone gone.

There are to many words to say about Renato(ZiZi) that was my nick name i had for him and from the first day i met him he called me Lou Snow! I had the pleasure working with ZiZi at Forest Contractors and we had long winter nights during snow storms snow plowing. We would have our breaks at his favourite restaurant Master Steak and we would share old stories and new. He was a Legrnd in the construction industry and was very well know and respected! Always in our hearts and thoughts but never out of our minds. Rest in Peace ZiZi and we will share our stories of you and our memories of you will be cherished. Our Va Zappa chats will never be the same! My deepest condolences to your family and my prays are with you during these difficult times. 🙏
