Born in Toronto on June 28, 1947, Ron attended John Fisher Public School, North Toronto Collegiate Institute, and the University of Toronto, before embarking on a long and successful career in the investment industry. His intelligence was matched only by his charm. He spent the last two-plus decades of his life battling the horrendous symptoms of Parkinson’s disease with courage and dignity, until his sudden passing on March 15, 2023, at age 75. Predeceased by his loving parents, Clare and Audrey, he will be deeply missed by his sons, Jeff (Laurel) and Rob (Linda), and his grandchildren, Audrey, Evelyn, Rosie, and Gordon. In his final years, Ron was blessed with talented and devoted caregivers, including Macaria Veneracion and Carrie Santos, whom he considered the daughter he never had. His family is indebted to these exceptional women, and to the management and staff at Amica at Bayview, where he developed many rewarding and enduring friendships with his fellow residents. In lieu of flowers, Ron’s family asks you kindly to consider a generous donation to Parkinson Canada.

Ron and I met circa 1970 when he attended Asbury & West UC and I attended Fairbank UC. We negotiated a pastoral sharing agreement between the churches at that time. Ron was a good friend ever since. We shared the love of the investment business and had many lunches to discuss same over the years. I regret that in recent years I lost track of Ron and despite several attempts to reach him I was unable to do so. He was a terrific person! Josie and I would like to extend heartfelt condolences to the LeRoy family on the passing of Ron. RIP my friend!
My heartfelt condolences for your loss. May the memories of good times buoy you through these troubled times. Ron was a true friend to my late husband, (Geoff), and me and I cherish the many times we spent together.
