Vanida Hannan (Venevongsos)

Obituary Overview

In Loving Memory

Vanida was an exceptional human being in so many ways. An intelligent, articulate, passionate woman who loved deeply. Vanida was born in Vientiane, Laos and moved with her family to Brittany France at the age of five. Vanida acquired the French language quickly and went on to become a highly regarded student excelling at all subjects. Her passion for learning led her to university studies in both France and Germany. A student of languages she spoke seven in total and spoke all with the correct accent. When her studies were complete she began a planned trip to English-speaking countries beginning with Canada. Several years after arriving in Canada she met Paul in 1999. They were married in 2002 and lived passionately together for 22 years. Paul and Vanida traveled the world together and built beautiful friendships around the globe. France never came out of Vanida's blood and she would travel there 2 to 3 times per year to be with her family of three brothers and a sister, as well as her lifelong friends and their children. France was her place to recharge and come back to work tirelessly in the legal field for her clients.
Vanida and Paul had put in place plans to partially retire in Portugal and the golden sands of the Algarve called out to them in particular. Portugal would be their launching pad to travel anywhere throughout Europe at a moment's notice. It was a beautiful dream.

Vanida leaves behind her devoted husband Paul and his daughter Olivia her brothers Chantala, Souvana, and Vanitha and her sister Kanika as well as Paul's brothers Clive, Doug and sister Heather.

Rest in peace beautiful Vanida we will see each other again.

I am heartbroken as I am sure all who knew this angel are. I was attempting to contact Vanida today and just saw the Obituary. I am in shock and had always depended on her for my legal services. I met Vamida at Re/Max when she was our go to gal, and always had the right answers. Vanida will be in my heart always and her spirit will soar always, as bright and loving as her personally. Miss you! Loving you always in my thoughts. My very heart goes out to you Paul and your loving family. Sue Leonard
