It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Anna Maria Liscio Forbes, of Toronto, Ontario, who passed away unexpectedly on February 20th, 2022, at the age of 37 years old, along with her beloved dog, Midnight.
She is survived by her husband Alexander Actavar Forbes; step-children Adrianna and Ayden Forbes; parents Antonio and Carmela Liscio; sisters Lisa Liscio Bagri (Kamaldeep Bagri) and Sonia Liscio (Ali Ebrahem); nephew Kazem Ebrahem; nieces Isabella Bagri and Layla Ebrahem; parents-in-law Dion Jourdine-Forbes and Lewitt Alexander Forbes; sister-in-laws Leodie, Latecia, Nathalie-Rose, Inga and Shecanta Forbes; and brother-in-laws Jerome, Lewitt, Eammon and Devontea Forbes.
Anna was born on March 14th, 1984. She was known for her authentically edgy, yet fun and compassionate style. Anna was a strong force to be reckoned with and made an impact on everyone she met. Her presence was known instantly when she walked into a room, whether it be with her funky, colourful hair, her vibrant smile, or her infectious laugh. She was fiercely loyal, unapologetically unique, and loved with her whole heart.
Professionally, Anna was the founder of Smooth Consulting, a business she was building with the vision of creating sustainable and equitable business ecosystems where leadership, diversity, wellness, and psychological safety are foundational. She held a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and French from the University of Toronto. She was a dreamer, a goal setter, and an entrepreneur.
Anna had a strong thirst for life and so many passions. She loved to travel, and often visited her relatives in Monteleone, Italy - the native home of her dad and grandparents - as well as Freeport, Bahamas; where her husband and his family originate. She loved art and being creative through drawing, playing with Lego and cooking. She loved children and will be remembered as the “cool Aunt”, always being silly, playful and never wanting to grow up.
Anna will be deeply missed yet will be lovingly remembered by numerous family, friends, teammates, co-workers and business partners.
Visitation will be held at Highland Funeral Home located at 10 Cachet Woods Ct, Markham, ON L6C 3G1, on Tuesday, March 1st, 2022, from 4pm to 8pm. Due to social distancing requirements, family and friends are invited to a walk-through visitation only to pay their respects, offer condolences and then kindly exit the building to allow for others to enter.
A Memorial Service will be held at Highland Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2022, at 10am, for the immediate family (invite only) due to COVID restrictions. Live stream available at LIVESTREAM. Entombment to follow at Highland Memorial Gardens at 33 Memory Garden Lane, Toronto, ON M2H 3K4 Wearing of masks, by everyone is mandatory during their time in the funeral home or cemetery.
In remembrance of Anna's life, the family asks, in lieu of flowers, that a charitable donation be made to the Terry Fox Foundation, an organization that she deeply supported through participating annually in the Terry Fox Run.
