Obituary Overview

Moshe "Morris" Teshuba

Moshe "Morris" Teshuba

Moshe (Morris) Teshuba was our beloved father, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle and friend to the many people who loved and admired him. Moshe passed in his sleep Thursday October 17th, 2019 morning at his family home with loved ones at his side, as he battled stage four stomach cancer. He is at peace now without pain. He is survived by his two children Anna (David), Alfonso (Simha), his wife Lidia, and his precious grandchildren, Adam, Keith, Austin, Jordan & Tanya. Moshe was born in Benghazi Libya (Tripolitania Region 1936). He married Lidia in 1964 in Rome Italy, and moved back to Israel where he continued his military service in the Israeli Air Force Division achieving rank of Sergeant Major, helping to defend Israel in the June 1967 Six Day War. Shortly afterwards in 1967 Moshe immigrated to Canada and began work at Zalev Brothers and then at Ford Motor Company as a quality control inspector until 1985. Moshe’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to invest in local real estate and open his restaurant “Lidia’s Place” in 1989. Moshe enjoyed retirement for the past 15 years with all properties/businesses sold, and he travelled the world with his brothers and family, while also living back in Israel for many months at a time.
Moshe was a proud member of Congregation Shaar Hashomyim for over 50 years, and a proud active member of our Jewish community, participating regularly at events, celebrations and programs.
Of all of Moshe’s accomplishments and activities, his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family at Shabbat & all holiday dinners, and especially with his grandchildren from their birth and throughout their lives. All his grandkids loved their “Nonno” and he thankfully made many videos with his old camcorder.
The Teshuba Family would like to thank the nurses and PSWs, of VON and Hospice for their daily excellent care during these past six weeks. If you so desire, donations to Hospice of Windsor, and/or donations to any/all of our local Jewish Institutions would be appreciated by the family (Shaar Hashomayim, Chabbad of Windsor, Congregation Beth El, WJCC, UJA, and/or JNF).
Moshe's funeral is on Sunday, October 20th, 2019 at 12:30pm at the Rachel Kaplan Hebrew Memorial Chapel (675 Aylmer Ave), in Windsor, with luncheon at Mazal Tov Kosher Cuisine (approx 3pm) at 1653 Ouellette Avenue. First Shiva night service will commence at the family home at 2879 Riviera, on Wednesday October 23rd at 6:00pm.
