When I joined the DRPS in 1980, D/Chief McMurray was an Inspector and one of the first senior officer's to introduce himself to me. He impressed me as a total gentleman that day. Any time our paths crossed, D/Chief McMurray always took the time to stop and say hello and always had a kind and encouraging word. He treated everyone with respect and in turn received the utmost respect from his fellow senior officer's and the officer's under his command. My sincere condolences to Mrs. McMurray and all the McMurray family for your loss.
Dear Tracy and family,
My sincere condolences.

I was a newly hired Constable in 1985, and posted to 25 Division in Pickering. Inspector McMurray was a true leader, and a wonderful person to work for. He led by example and earned the respect everyone gave him. Many of us have had wonderful policing careers because of his support and guidance. I always remember him with great fondness and awe. Please accept my condolences for your loss.

Our thoughts, prayers and heartfelt condolences go out to you all, Alex was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather (Papa) , brother, uncle, great uncle and friend to so any people.
When you left to make your life in Canada in 1965, one of the most popular songs in the British charts was " Where are you now" sang by Cathy Kirby.
Love and will always miss you big brother. You will always be in my thought.
In memory of a wonderful
BROTHER
I hold onto our memories
The ones that are so dear
To try to keep you always close
Now you are not here
You were called, it was your time
But it is so true
You have left a legacy
There was no one like you
You were very special
And I want to say
I feel lost in many ways
You are not here today
But I will never forget you
And I know I have been blessed
To have you for my brother
Because you were the best
D/Chief McMurray was our Superintendent in Pickering. I worked in CIB at the time and he was always approachable, had a good sense of humour and loved the troops. He was a gentleman and he will be deeply missed. My condolences to his wife Eileen and his girls who he often spoke of with affection.
Alex was the reason I joined the AJAX PD in 1967. He was my first C.I.B. partner. I will always remember his cheerful, resolute manner. So sorry to hear he passed. My sincere condolences to his lovely wife Eileen and family.
Sharon and family, please accept my heartfelt condolences on the sad loss of your Father. May your special memories and the special love and support of family and friends, help you through the sad times.

So sorry he has passed away. I worked with Alex from the days of Ajax P.D. to Durham Regional Police Service. He was a true gentleman and always had time to speak with you. I truly enjoyed my time with him over those many years.
Unfortunately, I am out of the country and will be unable to pay my respects.
