Obituary Overview

In Loving Memory

Lawrence "Larry" Clifford Walter Malone
1941-2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Lawrence “Larry” Clifford Walter Malone on April 2nd, 2023 at the young age of 81.

Cherished husband to Marilyn for 37 years. Loving father to Michael, Michelle, Stephen, Jeff (Irene) and the late Mark. Dear Grandfather to his many grandchildren. Beloved brother to Doug and Beverley. Cherished uncle to his many nieces and nephews. Larry will be greatly missed by his extended family and friends. Larry was a member of the Toronto Fire Department and retired in 1995 as a captain. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or Diabetes Canada in memory of Larry would be appreciated.

Larry always had a great sense of humour and loved cracking jokes and telling stories with family and friends. He was often referred to as Big Lar. He loved old movies on the Turner Classic Movie channel and enjoyed watching certain sports as well. Not only did he watch but he was a well-rounded athlete himself. He played hockey up until his 40’s then began playing tennis, golf, fishing and bowling. We also owe Larry a thank you for keeping his neighbourhood clean of the ads that would be left in the mailboxes. This always made people smile.

Larry was such a fun person who was always the center of attention and kept his audience captivated. He was a real charmer and a very social man. He had such a unique soul and personality. We will miss him!

Life is not
a rehearsal.

I will always remember the camping trips you took me on and the stories you would tell me on the drives up. You and Marilyn brought me to Disneyland in Florida when I was 10 years old and made my childhood dreams come true. Rest in Peace Grandpa

My condolences to Larry’s family and friends. Larry was my first Captain at Station 27 TFD . He was quite a character and encouraged us all to cook, we had many great meals as a crew. Great memories from those times.
