Sir David M.S.M. KSTG hear the soft whisper of Our Lords voice calling him home, while in the arms of his loving wife and family at his side; Dave took his last ride on the wings of a dove to his heavenly home at 11:11 p.m. on May 16, 2021.
A loving dedicated family man. Loving husband to Penny for 53 years, Loving father to Dee (Martin), Terri (Jim), Kevin and Melissa. “Papa” will be sadly missed by Nicole, Tayllore, Jazzmin, Jaden, Kolton, Logan, Nowah and Cody, Michael. Cherished memories of “Poppop” will be shared with his great grandchildren Petyon, Amara-Lynn, Gavin, Ryelynn, Austin, Lila and two on the way. Survived by his siblings Gord (Shirley), Shirley, Joe, Keith (Mary) and Sherry (Rick). Also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews, extended family, amongst multiple organizations that he held the highest honours and respect in.
Dave was born in Toronto, where he met the love of his life Penny. In 1982 Dave and Penny moved the family to Cambridge. A gifted and talented artist for over 47 years; A talent he discovered while recovering from a broken back from a car accident. Dave’s devotion to family and respect he has for the men and women that have served with gallantry for our country has lead him to a path to take up oil painting for the first time. That passion and dedication and heartfelt love of family lead him to create a masterpiece “The Portraits of Honour”. The Portraits of Honour is a dedication to those brave individuals that have lost their lives in service to our Country and the Freedom it represents.
Dave has had and extensive career supporting military and veterans and local heroes across the country receiving numerous awards for his work. Dave has been honoured in Ottawa with the Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal, a commendation from the Minister of Veteran Affairs, Meritorious Service Medal, Dave has also received a knighthood from the Order of St. George. Dave is a life member of the Kin Canada and HRF Recipient, Life member of the Canadian Air Force, A life member of the NATO Veterans Organization of Canada, A life member of CAV Canadian Army Veterans motorcycle unit, an honorary member of the Canadian Rangers. Due to the COVID 19 restrictions a private family service will be held at the Memory Gardens Funeral Home 2723 Victoria St. N. 519 904 0400.

We at Lyons Little Austria wish Terri and your family our deepest sympathies. We have been aware of this great mans legacy through Terri and the time you have spent with us. May you rest knowing how many lives were touched by your father.
I remember when Dave and Penny owned a shop with gifts and a a little cafe. They sold many beautiful items and the food was great! Dave painted a beautiful mural on the wall. The shop was on king street in Preston. They were an amazing couple and great people!!! My condolences and prayers, and much love to the Sopha family!!! Bless!!!
