We are announcing the passing of Arthur Charles Broadhead. He went to be with the Lord on April 16, 2020 at 4:15 a.m. at the age of 89 years. For the last year Charles has been a resident at Clifton Manor.

Charles was a printer in Winnipeg and transferred to Calgary in 1962 where he worked for Marshall Wells and then for Alberta Wheat Pool for many years. He was a school janitor at James Fowler Senior High School and then at Sir Wilfred Laurier Junior High School, retiring shortly after. Charles was a very hard worker and had multiple jobs at one time.

Charles was an avid hunter with numerous friends and his son Don. He also loved woodworking, making lots of lawn ornaments. Charles liked chopping wood with both chain saws and axes. He helped clear Salem Acres of the dead wood and enjoyed many memorable bond fires.

Charles loved to travel and took his family to the United States every year for a family holiday. He was a Sunday school teacher for many years in Winnipeg and Calgary.

Charles is survived by his wife Margaret of 63 years, daughter Emily, son Jim {deceased}, daughter-in-law Jody, son Don {deceased}, daughter-in-law Heather, daughter Dorothy, and son-in-law Al. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Charles was predeceased by parents Arthur and Emily Broadhead, sister Doreen Hewlett, brother Ken Broadhead and sister Joyce.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

I always appreciated Charlie. He always had a care for others. I enjoyed hunting with him. He was a quiet strong Christian. Psalm 136:26 Oh, give thanks to the God of heaven! For His mercy endures forever
