Obituary Overview

Lovingly Remembered

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear father at the age of 98. Dad had a long and distinguished life and career.

He was a member of UA Local 496 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union for over 65+ years. He was very active in the union organizing Christmas and Halloween parties as well as the stampede breakfast. His career took him all over western Canada and also to Mexico and Kuwait. He was said to be an excellent foreman by all those who worked for him.

He worked as a Marshall at city golf courses until he was 95. He loved working with wood and had a great imagination when making many different projects.

He had a great sense of humor and loved telling stories and having great conversations with people. He was a fair and honest person and very hard working all his life.

Dad is survived by his son Rod (Bonnie) of Calgary, daughter Devera (Herb) Collins, granddaughter Kim Collins and grandson Jamey Collins of Tucson, Arizona.Β  Β He was predeceased by his wife Angeline in 2004.

Special thanks to the staff at Age Care Midnapore for keeping him safe and taking good care of him, also a very special thanks to Michelle and Dean for watching out for Dad and bringing him wonderful meals when he lived at home. A very special thanks to two little girls Sadie and Ada who loved him so much and brought great joy to his life.

Rest in peace Dad, we will miss you greatly.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Dear Rod and Bonnie, Devra, Butch and family, I was very sorry to learn of Cliff's passing. Please accept my sincerest condolences. Cliff was a dear long-time friend who I have known over the past 62 years. We have enjoyed a lot of good times together at family weddings, birthdays, family reunions and playing golf with Tom Gilks. I also have many fond memories of our visits back and forth to Northern Mexico, Alberta and at our home in Ontario. I will truly miss Cliff. Love Uncle Ron xo
