Obituary Overview

Forever Loved

Karl-Heinz Rehmann was born in Balingen, Germany to Gustav and Lilly Rehmann. He immigrated to Canada with his family at the age of two, residing in Forest Lawn, Calgary.

Over the years, Karl’s interests included playing table tennis, playing chess, looking after his pet pigeons, and watching art painting shows on television. He especially enjoyed going fishing with his father and brother. Karl was an avid fan of the Calgary Stampeders and the Calgary Flames—seldom missing a game on television or radio, and he recalled and eagerly shared sports trivia and statistics about his favourite teams.

Throughout his life, Karl encountered numerous health challenges due to DiGeorge Syndrome. He was a kind and gentle man, always ready with a smile and a story to share.

Karl passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at the Intercare Brentwood Care Centre in Calgary, AB at the age of 62 years. Karl is survived by his brother Norbert (Karin); five nieces and nephews: Teresa (Cameron), Christopher (Kelsey), Matthew (Alejandra), Connor and Erin; and brother-in-law Randy McKinley. Karl was predeceased by his parents Gustav and Lilly, and by his sister Carmen.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers and staff at the Brentwood Care Centre who provided excellent care and compassion for Karl.
