With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Lloyd Bettcher, beloved husband of Shirley Bettcher of Calgary, on June 22, 2020 at the age of 87 years.
Along with Shirley, his loving wife of 69 years, Lloyd will be lovingly remembered by his children Teresa (Harold) Bechtel of Westlock, AB and David (Linda) Bettcher of Calgary; his six grandchildren; and his eleven great-grandchildren. He will also be dearly missed by his sisters Joyce and Bev, numerous nieces and nephews, and his friends at Silver Threads and Forest Lawn United Church.
Lloyd delivered the Calgary Herald in the 1940’s, through every snowstorm, so the story goes. He worked for Blackburns Hardware from 1949 to 1976, when he became the owner of Blackburns Hardware in Bridgeland until 1981. Lloyd was an avid horseman and loved the outdoors.
Condolences from family and friends

Its been hard coming to terms with the fact that you are gone and that I didn't get to say goodbye or that I hadn't seen you recently. I hope you know how much I love you and are proud of the person i've become <3 I have some things out of your garage I will never let go. I hope there are some wicked horses up there for you to ride! Rest Peacefully gramps <3
Hello there.. I am Samantha, Lloyd and Shirley's house cleaner. Lloyd was always such a joy to clean for, always making jokes. The love Lloyd and Shirley have is so beautiful and shined so bright. I loved hearing all their story’s, like how Lloyd sold his motor bike for a ring for Shirley. I am so upset to hear the news and I sent all my love to Shirley and the family. Lloyd and Shirley you have a big spot in my heart ❤️
