Obituary Overview

In Loving Memory

Olavi (Ollie) Matti Kaustinen passed peacefully on April 24, 2020 in Calgary, after a brief battle with cancer. He was 88.

Ollie was born on March 26, 1932, in Nipigon, Ontario. He attended the University of Toronto, where he graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Ollie was a veteran pipeline engineer whose life work was building and maintaining the national energy infrastructure we all rely upon. He loved to golf and ski the Rockies in beautiful Alberta, and was proud of the home he designed, with its spectacular view of Calgary’s skyline.

Ollie is survived by his beloved wife Donna; his children Fred (Carol), Gary (Cathy), Matt (Lori) and Hope; grandchildren Nikolai (Natasha), Katrina, Amy, Hayden, Avery (Ruth), Cameron and Maya; greatgrandchild Lexi; and Donna’s children Janet, Steve and Peter and their families. He is predeceased by brothers Oskar and Osmo (Mark).

Ollie will be cremated and his ashes placed at Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery (Calgary).
