Obituary Overview

In Our Hearts Forever

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sharon Annette Fisher, fondly known as Grams or GiGi, at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on April 18, 2020 at the age of 79 years.

Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her children James (Alisa) Pogson of Rocky Mountain House, AB, Jackie (Gerard) Bruha of Chestermere, AB, and John (Michelle) Oel of Hamilton, ON; her eight grandchildren; and her fifteen great grandchildren. She will also be sadly missed by Sheryl Fisher, William Thompson, and the many people whose lives she impacted. Sharon was predeceased by her mother Shirley Fisher, her father James Fisher, William Pogson, and Patrick Oel.

Sharon was a woman who was generous, warmhearted, kind, and a great mother and matriarch who cared deeply for everyone in her family and many others. She was also a warrior who taught proper and lasting values to her family. Sharon impacted the lives of all the generations of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

The family would also like to express our gratitude to the staff at Prince of Peace Lodge and Unit 39 of the Peter Lougheed Hospital for their compassion and assistance during this difficult time.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, a private service will be held for immediate family only on April 23, 2020. A Celebration of Sharon’s Life will be held at a later date.
