Bill is terribly missed. The first time I met Bill was when I started working at The Calgary Drop In Center about 11 years ago. I was truly shell shocked as I had never worked with the homeless before and had no idea of what to expect. Bill was one of my three wonderful bosses and he helped me to feel at ease right away. He gave me some words to help me including "Don't expect the clients to trust you right away. They have been through alot. It takes time to earn their trust" (true) Bill always went out of his way to express a true intrest and to help not only the clients but also the staff. I was going through some huge personal issues and Bill took me into the office and talked to me about it all as a friend. That is something that a person could not expect from too many bosses! It made him a rare and special individual. I saw him help many other staff members. His humor was hysterically funny and lightened so many crappy moments at work, as I share the same dark humor , I was always pleasantly suprised to hear what came out of his mouth. When I think about some of those things I still snicker to myself. We kept in touch via fb and text and I was happy to run into him downtown a month or so before he passed on, made plans -but it never happened. I wish I could think of a more amazing way to explain how I felt about Bill but so difficult at times to put someone like Bill into words. Rest In peace my friend...see you when I get to the other side, and I know you will have more words of wisdom and words to make me laugh as well. -Lisa

Bill came to work for us 5 years ago , he was a great worker and became part of our family. We still are in shock of his passing but he left us with so many memories that we will never forget. He was a great person, loved his family especially talked a lot about his daughter, Emma. He loved his chubby munchkin as he referred to all the time. Our condolences to the Munro family and his children. RIP William we will always remember you always.
