Treanor, Dr. James Joseph
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James J. Treanor in Ottawa on October 4, 2019 in his 90th year. He will be dearly missed and forever loved by his wife Linda. Devoted father to Dave (Shari), Liz, Robyn (Brian) and Scott. Proud poppa/grandfather to Reiley, Owen, Lochlan, Matthew, Holly and Chase. He will be fondly remembered by Jim and JoAnn Stevenson and family in Toronto, Jean Cameron and family of Scotland. He is also survived by his dear sister Kitty, and many nieces and nephews in the U.K. He was predeceased by his son John in 1987, and his wife Gerry in 1992. He was a graduate of the University of Glasgow, a partner of Glazier Medical Centre and on staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. He was a keen golfer, an avid reader and a lover of all dogs; especially golden retrievers. A Funeral Mass will be held at Church of St. Gregory the Great, 194 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa on Friday October 11th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. A celebration of life reception will be held at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby (905-443-3376) on Friday October 18th, 2019 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Durham Region. I am just learning of Dr. Treanor's passing. He was our family physician for many many years. He was such a wonderful person as well as a great doctor. My deepest sympathies to you and the family. "Wonderful memories are forever"
View MoreDr. Treanor was my family's Doctor while we lived in Oshawa. I, like many others remember his whistling in the halls of the clinic. He made even the youngest of patients feel comfortable and cared for. Whenever I saw him, he called me "toots" and every time I drive by the Glazier Medical Centre, I recall him fondly. I'm sorry to hear of his passing and send sincere condolences from the Pym family to his family and friends. May you rest in peace, Dr. Treanor.
