Rest in peace, dear father-in-law Panagiotis. I am a very lucky man to have met your lovely daughter Voula way back in 1975 at the Sunrise Restaurant, your first enterprise in Canada. You and Anastasia were very kind to me (a new Canadian with Egyptian-Greek roots) from the very start. Being your son-in-law was a privilege and I will forever be grateful to you for having welcomed me into the Tzalazidis family. You took good care of your children, grand-children and great grands, and have left a great legacy. You can rest in peace, dear Panagiotis, and be assured that I will take good care of Voula and our three children Liakos, Panagiotis and Diana. You may have left this world, but your memory will be with us forever.
You came from Greece to Canada with your lovely wife Anastasia and children (sons Barney, John, Nick, daughters Toula and Voula). You worked hard to take care of your family. I had the honour to get to know you at the wedding of my dear brother Elie and your beautiful and beloved daughter Voula. I had the honour to become a part of your great family, I had the joy and honour to meet you, your lovely wife, children and grand-children, several times at my brother Elie's and Voula's house in Scarborough or in Oshawa. On all occasions, I was pleased to see what a great person you were. We will always love and remember you.
Having reached 91, God gave you many years to take care of your family. After a beautiful life on earth, you’re now entering a new one in the Kingdom of Heaven with our beloved Son of God Jesus Christ, our beloved mother of God the Virgin Mary with all the saints, and all those who preceded us there. In communion with our beloved Greek Orthodox Church, I join my prayers with all the priests and clergy who will pray at your funeral and, from the Holy City of Jerusalem where I serve in our Melkite Catholic Church, I accompany you all with my prayers for the repose of your soul. May our God who loves you very much fulfill you with all the graces you need to enter the kingdom of heaven and accompany you with His angels to enter into eternal life. I pray to our Lord and God that He console your beloved wife, your sons and daughters, your grand-children, and all your dear family during this time of bereavement.
From JERUSALEM, I send my condolences and blessings to all the members of the dear family with whom I am in communion, especially on the day and time of the funerals.
