In Loving Memory


87, with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Emily Enkin. After a long battle with a Brain tumor Emily comfortably passed on August 14, 2022. Lifetime sweetheart of the late David (Dubby) Enkin. Loving mother to Katie, Max (Yael) and Fran. Cherished Savta (Grandmother) to Avi (Talya), Elana, Mazel and David. Survived by her sister Freyda and niece Julie Harris, nephew Lewis Michaelson. Emily will be dearly missed by extended family and friends. Especially our cherished cousins Linda (Lorne) and Katie (Lyle) Brown, Joe, Henri and Abe. She will be embraced by Aunt Riva, Uncle Louis and her best friend Sylvia Gale.

Retired teacher with Windsor Public School Board and Years of dedicated service with the Windsor Public Library. Mom had a lifetime love of all things books and reading. She loved needle point, her tea and M*A*S*H. Her roots still in Michigan with her Beloved Detroit Lions. Known for her traditional Jewish Cooking especially Blintzes and Gefilte fish. If you know, you know!

Special Thanks to for the excellent care and compassion, at 8 W at Hotel Dieu and the staff at Palliative Care Unit. A deep gratitude to her PSW’s Bobbi Joe and Sandy. Many thanks to Dr. Berecz, Dr. Liang, Dr. Kidd and all the medical personnel who have helped Mom over the years.

In lieu of flowers, if you so desire, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Literacy for Adults.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 15 at 11 a.m. at the Rachel Kaplan Hebrew Memorial Chapel, 685 Aylmer Ave. with Rabbi Shalom Galperin officiating. Interment will immediately follow at the Shaar Hashomayim Cemetery at 2618 Pillette Road.

We are so sad to read of Emily's passing. What a joy of a human being to work with at WPL! I (Colleen), always called her Auntie Em. We worked together first at the old Ambassador Library. Em always talked of her kids and grandchildren. So proud of all. So loved by her. Such a delightful, kind, funny human being. Colleen Hand and David Tripney
