RABKIN, Mikhail

With great sadness and the fondest of memories his family announces the passing of Mikhail (Moshe) Rabkin, who died in his home surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Galina his eldest brother Semyon, his daughter Yelena, his son Daniel, his daughter-in-law Rachel and his four grandchildren Levia (13), Abigail (5), Gabrielle (3) and David (1).

Mikhail lived and worked for his family and will be remembered by his loving heart, his intellect, his incomparable work ethic, his sparkling blue eyes and his sense of humour which he had until the very end.

He bestowed on his family many gifts, including a profound sense of their Jewish identity, discipline and commitment to work and each other, and the lesson that true strength lies in kindness.

We will go on and honour him with our lives, now with a vast absence that will never be filled. We will be consoled by our memories of him and how well he loved us and how much we will forever love him.

We are grateful to the care he received from doctors and nurses over the years, but most especially Dr. Freeman who took great care of him in the final months.

May his memory forever be a blessing.
