Obituary Overview

Please dress casual for the service.

It is with broken hearts we announce Steve's passing on Monday March 13th, 2023 at the age of 65, surrounded by his adoring family. Survived by Sandra, his loving wife of 31 years. Loving father to Tiffany(Justin), Alex (Calea), and Dillon (Taylor). Adoring grandfather to Asher Carmen Hiles. He is also survived by his mother Anastasia, and predeceased by his father Carmen. He will be dearly missed by his sister Debbie (Calvin) and brother Wayne (Kathy), brothers-in-law Jim (Tina), Randy (Leah), Brad (Audrey), Adam (Luz), and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Steve faced his illness with grace and courage, always putting other people's needs before his own. He was passionate about music, MMA, and boxing. But mostly, he loved his family and loved being a husband, father, and grandfather. We would like to thank our selfless relatives and friends who came together to provide comfort and support in his time of need. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Juravinski Cancer Centre or to providing essential medical support and services for Steve’s Daughter-in-Law Calea.

How do you say good bye to a big brother who has been your mentor for alls these years. It's been 50 years since I met you at the bowling alley in New Toronto, since that day we became best of friends and we became brothers by choice. So many stories and adventures over the years that we have experienced together. We had some amazon times growing with each other the years although there where changes in between we never lost touch with each other, we still kept that bond. I walked into California Sandwiches the other day and almost ordered 2 sandwiches and realized what I was doing, I was getting one for you. I will never forget you my brother although I will miss your warm laugh your stand up jokes, your stories and most of all you, I will never forget you. My heart truly goes out to Sandy and Steve's children Alex, Dillion, Tiffany and to Momma Hiles. Steve's brother Wayne and sister Debbie and to all your family and friends who will truly miss you.
