My first concert was seeing Gord and the Tragically Hip at the forever named Pine Knob Music Theater in Michigan with my friends. I remember so vividly the presence this larger than life man had on stage, especially considering I did not know their music very well at the time. This concert experience began a long love affair for the music he and his bandmates would continue to make for two more decades. God bless the family and friends of such a beautiful man during this difficult time and thank you for the love that Gord brought into this world.
As an amateur musician my favourite song to play is Fiddlers Green. So much meaning and so able to play with passion. I guess Gord new that when he put it together. He not only made music to teach, and make political statements, he made music fun. Thank you, Gord
Thank you for sharing him with us. His music, poetry and vision will live on for years to come. Our hearts break with you. We all have a connection to a man many of us have never met~that’s a pretty amazing legacy. My deapest sympathy to your family.
All my love
The Hip's music is food for my soul. My heart was shattered and tears poured down my face when I turned on the radio that day and learned of Gord's passing. The tears still flow from time to time, when I am reminded that you are gone. Sending my heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and fans. Thank you Gord for everything you accomplished in your life. You will be forever loved and remembered ♡
So sorry for your loss. I never knew Gord, but he was an amazing Canadian Icon. He was very down to earth, and will be dearly missed. We were all lucky to have him in our lives. His songs, and charity work will live on through all of us.
I am by no means a religious man, however it is safe to say Gord was truly a gift of god. His music that he wrote has gotten me through many dark times in my life. I believe he will never be dead though and he is alive as ever in our hearts. Rest easy big G, much love from Alex Pitre.
