06-Nov-1947 - 01-Apr-2022

Obituary Overview

In Loving Memory

Donna was called home to be with her Lord and peacefully passed away at home on April 1, 2022. Donna was born in Zagreb, Yugoslavia (now Croatia) on November 6, 1947. Predeceased by her parents Nikola and Livija Corak, her loving husband Darko Martonfi and their baby daughter Diana Martonfi (1968), in-laws Julius and Eva Martonfi, brother-in-law John Walker, and daughter-in-law Koreen Reid.  Donna was a faithful Christian and dedicated her life to following the Scripture. She found love again and is lovingly remembered by her husband Dalton West, sons Daniel (Beverley); Michael (Lea) and Steven (Robin), her grandchildren who brought her so much joy, Caleb, Nicky and Zoe, as well as Maria Martonfi, cherished sister-in-law. Life was never dull with Donna. She enjoyed social gatherings, being playfully competitive, and spending many winters in the sunny south. Donna touched the hearts of many and will be deeply missed. The family extends special thanks to Howie & Edna Hagey who have provided much love and assistance during the past several weeks when her health declined rapidly. Family and friends will be received at the Toll Funeral Home, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Saturday, April 16, 2022 from 10-11am. A Memorial Service will follow in the Chapel.

I will always be grateful for Donna leading me to Christ, and mentoring me in my early years as a new Believer. She was a part of our family for nearly 30 years, coming to most of our gatherings - weddings (even officiated my 3rd's daughter's), baby dedications/showers, and parties of all kinds. We had many, many good times together, and although we weren't as close in these last couple of years, she will always be my "spiritual" mom. I will miss her, but I know that we will meet again in heaven, having committed our lives completely to Christ, and now children of the Most High God - joint heirs with Christ - born of the Spirit, and of water. See you one day again, Donna:) Love, Penny
